I seem to be on a roll here. I think I’ll stick to the subject of “Libido” for a bit longer. I have received some good feed back from the blogs on this subject and it seems that the Universe is opening up many different subjects and modalities I probably would have ignored otherwise. But because the subject is important to me and to quite a few of you, I just become aware of them. It’s like the old adage: when the student is ready, the teacher will appear.

There are some things that I’ve picked up that are very important to be aware of. Low libido can cause depression which can cause low energy, which can cause lower metabolism, which can cause lower attention to exercise, which can increase appetites for bread, sweets, red meat, alcohol, which can cause weight gain, which comes right back to lower libido. Amazing little circle, eh.

Most women just feel completely wrung out and cheated.

The majority of women feel that there is nothing that can be done about it, it’s menopause and therefore, with that huge rock on women’s shoulders and embedded throughout their bodies, most women just feel completely wrung out and cheated.

Not only is there something you can do, but also if you take care of your body, your newly returning libido will have a wonderful castle in which to reside. First, learn to eat well. Eat as many raw vegetables as you can. If not, then lightly steaming is a great way to retain the nutrients—vegetables such as beets, kale, bok choy and spinach, to name just a few. In fact a good rule of thumb is: the darker the colouration of the veggie, the better it is nutritionally. The same goes for raw fruit. Dark is better. Fish and white chicken meat are okay if you must do meat, and are a good source of protein.

Some bad habits to get rid of if you can, will make you feel, in the long run, much healthier and happier. Too much alcohol, caffeine, either from coffee, or soft drinks, nicotine, processed foods all can be detrimental to the cycle of your insulin and sugar spikes. Rule of thumb with packaged goods: if you can’t read or understand any of the words on the ingredients list, maybe it would be best to not buy it.

Some types and positions in Yoga can be used to greatly assist women in raising their libido and literally “thinking their way to orgasms.”

Try to get as much exercise as your doctor advises. A half an hour walk a day, some yoga exercises, cardiovascular exercises, working with weights all help to slim down the pouch off your paunch.

Another thing I want to stress is that there are a few other cures for low libido besides the Androgel I’ve been talking about. Depending on where you are in the cycle, peri, meno or post, and depending on if you are lucky enough to have a doctor who is brave enough to do the studying up on the subject, there are female hormones that can be used to the same effect.

At the present moment, I’ve just started reading a book called “The Science of Yoga: The Risks and Rewards” by William J Broad. Apparently, some types and positions in Yoga can be used to greatly assist women in raising their libido and literally “thinking their way to orgasms.” Wow, what a concept and one I’ll be studying closely for the next blog entry.
